When we left Melbourne to travel for a year, we did not know it would involve many life altering decisions for us. 6 months into our trip, while in Venice, COVID hit. We had to decide whether to attempt a return to Australia or to wait it out in Europe. We decided to see what would happen. We ended up in Paris 2 days before lockdown and years later we are still here.
During COVID the National Portrait Gallery of Australia asked to interview me about the 'sliding doors' moment as they termed it. It was wonderful to talk to the wonderful Gilly and to go over old NPG comissions and exhibitions as well as some of the other projects and experiences I had on the trip.
